The Medical Device Sales Trainee assists in the promotion and sales of the company's products through direct physician interaction, including consultation on interventional procedures, medical staff education and scientific/clinical education.
Job Functions/Duties (may include other duties as assigned)
Acquires, maintains and expands knowledge of company's products and markets to meet customer's needs.
Establishs and develops relationships with key clinical and non-clinical decision makers.
Represents Cook Medical in a professional manner at all times.
Covers cases as required.
Delivers and picks up products as needed.
Maintains credibility in dealing with physicians, nurses, and administrators.
Follows through on customer requests and commitments.
Develops, maintains and executes an annual business plan in accordance with specific SBU guidelines.
Educates and updates customers via in-services, literature, videos, reprints and articles approved and distributed by Cook Marketing.
Participates in national, state, and regional sales exhibits.
Assists District Manager in meeting and/or exceeding projected sales goals.
Keeps current on the managed health care environment.
Must travel up to 100% of the time on short notice and overnight as needed.
Must relocate to assigned territory upon completion of training.
Requirements
Experience in using effective time management and organizational skills.
Experience in use of advanced communication skills: written, oral and presentation as necessary.
Experience working independently and with minimal supervision.
Education
Must understand the principles of sales marketing, cost effectiveness, medical terminology associated with the specialties and procedures where the products are used.
4 year degree in related field preferred.
Applied knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements
Frequently lifts product sample cases, weighing between 20 and 50 lbs.
