Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

 
The Manager, Warehouse will be responsible for assisting the Plant Manager by managing and executing all warehousing activities in support of the overall plant operation; helps promote an overall corporate image of excellence through a strong work ethic, leadership by example, and the consistent delivery of excellent customer service throughout the warehouse operation.
 
This position will also be responsible for management of all warehouse activities ensuring the receipt, co-ordination and safety of goods being processed through the facility including orders being received and dispatched in a timely matter to appropriate destinations in proper quantities.
 
This position will supervise receiving, storage, picking, staging, and shipping or transporting.  The operation is responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of material receipt from suppliers, material delivery to manufacturing, finished goods receipt from manufacturing, and shipping to domestic and international locations.
 
The Manager, Warehouse will determine work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite work flow to ensure the highest level of process efficiency with reliable measurements and low cost operation.
 
This position will assist in making recommendations and implementing approved projects to effectively manage, track, control and monitor inventories of raw materials, packaging, incoming shipments in addition to shipping and receiving controls and activities.  The selected individual will be expected to recommend technology and applications for streamlining all warehouse processes and inventory management.
 
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: 

  • Manage the efforts of warehouse personnel responsible for receiving, storing, counting, retrieving and transporting inventory to support manufacturing and distribution.
  • Provide planning, direction and coordination for all warehouse related activities while achieving optimum use of workers, equipment, materials and facilities.
  • Establish work practices, Operating Procedures and Work Instructions to improve overall performance, insure inventory accuracy, streamline handling, maximize productivity and promote efficient material flow and space utilization.
  • Responsible for establishing clear performance requirements and measuring performance of personnel staff as well supporting their development.
  • Ensure that the warehouse is operated and maintained according to established GMP requirements.
  • Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.  Coordinate activities with logistics carriers, interface with Transportation on priority planning.
  • Work closely with Quality and Purchasing to isolate and disposition non-conforming incoming materials and products - including interaction with suppliers.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, quality and distribution groups to process receipts, inspections, transfers, returns, etc. to support manufacturing activities.
  • Ensure all inventory related transactions are electronically recorded as soon as they occur to maintain an accurate perpetual inventory.
  • Oversee and coordinates physical inventories and cycle counts to provide the organization with both accurate counts and financial valuation.
  • Ensure proper implementation of systems throughout warehousing operations and trains personnel on proper use.
  • Develop warehouse operations system improvements by analyzing process work flow, manning and space requirements and equipment layout; implementing changes to maximize productivity.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on warehouse management, storage, inventory management practices, WMS systems.
  • Lead, coaches, and empowers team members in a positive manner to maximize their potential and their contributions to key performance goals for the company.
  • Ensure that the established guidelines/rules of Herbalife are applied in all disciplines under his/her responsibilities.
  • Responsible for overall safety, cleanliness, security and organization of warehouse.   Participate in planning personnel safety and protection activities.                     
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
 


Job Requirements

Skills:
Required

  • Good communication and motivational skills and experience in staffing / training are necessary.
  • Leadership qualities and demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Good time-management skills and problem solving abilities.
  • Working knowledge of WMS.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels in the organization.
  • Capable of understanding operational requirements to provide effective support
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish - English) preferred.
Experience:
Required
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive Warehouse Management experience.
  • Previous experience in collaborating across multiple departments.
Preferred
  • Experience in GMP and C - TPAT environment highly preferred.
 
Education:
Required
  • A minimum of 5 years related Warehouse Management experience and / or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree.
