The Sales Representative position is responsible to sell specified Diebold products within assigned territory to achieve established sales objectives. Essential Functions include: Direct Selling - Call on prospective customers.
- Secure sales order, arrange delivery dates and other incidents to actual selling.
- Maximize sales of assigned products within territory to achieve sales objectives: volume and revenue of hardware and systems, new accounts secured, key account activity, receivables, discount goals and competitive account penetration.
- Develop and implement marketing action plans for key and target accounts. Plans are to be based upon thorough analysis of business requirements.
- Develop generic and specific customer presentations and proposals that ensure professionalism and results.
Establish and Build Sound Customer Relationships - Maintain contacts with customers in relation to their requirements. Make company services available to customers.
- Ensure that customers are knowledgeable of Diebold's policies relative to sales, systems support and service.
- Inform customer of supply and price trends, keep them informed on new products and other information of interest.
- Ensure continued business growth by utilizing sound and profitable practices.
- Ensure the maintenance of proper follow up to each sale and the resulting profitable installation of hardware and software products.
- Ensure that outstanding receivables are minimized through planning and coordination with company finance associates and the customer.
- Resolve customer complaints and concerns as effectively and quickly as possible.
Administrative and Support Responsibilities - Prepare accurate sales forecasts, call reports and sales activity reports for submission to the Regional Sales Manager on a timely basis.
- Report proposal/prospect status through Proposal Tracking System.
- Ensure that expenses are maintained within approved budgets.
- Implement and continually review the proper flow of contracts to company headquarters to ensure timeliness and accuracy of all contractual relationships with customers for both hardware and systems products.
- Keep informed of competitive activity, document same and keep management informed.
- Maintain high level of communication with functional groups within the division as well as with Service/Installation and Finance to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.
- BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
- Individual must be highly attentive to details and well organized
- Must be PC proficient with working knowledge of various spreadsheet and presentation programs.
- Familiar with target account(s) and similar market environment.
- Experience selling technology products / capital goods
- Knowledge of the Finance Industry
- Individual must have a proven track record demonstrating: questioning techniques, objection handling, negotiation skills, financial selling skills, closing skills and territory and account management skills.
