Position Description

EHS Lead 

Job Description 

Environmental – Lead role in developing sustainable environmental management system (EMS) and overseeing compliance efforts for Title V facility
  • Lead relationship-building and compliance efforts with all State and Federal regulatory agencies
  • Educate and train all plant personnel on regulations, requirements, roles, and best practices in sustainability, environmental stewardship, and compliance
  • Act as an active member of the plant leadership team, advising the lead team on all environmental requirements and responsibilities
  • Oversee audits, inspections, investigations and corrective action effectiveness
  • Characterize and manage all waste streams from facility
  • Maintain all records, reports, permits, and manifests
  • Prioritize and advocate capital requirements for environmental control upgradesSafety – Lead role in establishing
  • Develop strategic plan for facility based on risk-ranked prioritization
  • Establish leadership presence on the plant floor to build relationships, influence employee and first-line leader behaviors, and build employee engagement
  • Oversee the development of a fully functional safety committee
  • Oversee the growth and development of a plant safety coordinator
  • Develop and manage required training for all employees
  • Oversee or conduct all inspections, audits, investigations, and corrective action effectiveness
  • Prioritize and advocate capital/resource requirements for safety improvementsRequirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree – safety, environmental, or engineering preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of Title V, OPA 90, RCRA, and NPDES requirements
