Job Description

We are currently seeking a Night Warehouse Supervisor for our distribution facility in Houston, Texas.
JOB DESCRIPTION:The Night Warehouse Supervisor leads warehouse workers and other hourly employees in filling, loading and checking of orders for retail customers. Additionally, the Night Warehouse Supervisor trains new Warehouse Leads and workers, always ensuring an understanding of organizational and operation policies and service guidelines. The Night Warehouse Supervisor also ensures proper inventory and filling of orders to retail customers, maintains accurate records to ensure the accurate and effective production of the order selection shift and oversees a shift of not less than 20 hourly employees in an accumulation environment that uses conveyor systems in a voice pick environment. The Night Warehouse Supervisor may also be called upon, at times, to perform preventive, routine or unscheduled repairs to conveyor systems. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Supervises Warehouse Lead Workers and hourly employees to ensure timely completion of order selection and truck loading to meet dispatch parameters.
  • Coaches, directs and counsels night warehouse employees on overall performance. Defines productivity expectations and monitors progress regularly.
  • Conducts meetings with Warehouse Lead Workers and hourly employees on building security, vehicle security, warehouse loading productivity and efficiency as well as all safety regulations and rules.
  • Directs the selection and loading of items/quantities sold daily.
  • Identifies and recommends opportunities for employee development and performance improvement requirements.
  • Provides accurate reports of performance related issues involved with the order selection shift in regards to accuracy, efficiency, breakage control, etc.
  • Participates in the recruitment and hiring of warehouse personnel.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent thereof in related experience.
  • Warehouse experience in a distribution environment.
  • Strong communication skills-verbal, motivation and facilitation of strong working relationships.
  • Strong supervisory skills in directing and coaching others.
  • Repair, maintenance or other relevant experience with Rapistan or other automated conveyor systems.
