We are currently seeking an Account Executive. This position will be based out of Nashville, TN.
Position Summary
Major Function:
Key Duties / Responsibilities
Essential duties are identified by asterisks.
Serves as the main point of contact for the client regarding project initiatives; serves as the liaison for client projects by channeling all project-related communications with the client, outside vendors, internal team members, and other company staff members; schedules and leads meetings / conference calls with the client and team members to review project initiatives and communicate updates on the progress, opportunities, and financial implications of activities (some meetings may require travel to the client site and formal presentations). 30%
Maintains documentation related to individual direct marketing campaign projects by: opening jobs in Advantage; maintaining project notebooks and online folders for all assigned jobs; maintaining status reports for assigned projects and distributing to team members; developing written communication to inform team members of any changes in their project roles; maintaining client edit and approval documents on such items as creative work and data processing reports. 15%
Manages project process through the implementation of company processes and procedures in order to meet established client deadlines; communicates timelines to project team members and updates as necessary; manages client budgets and project expenses; ensures quality control throughout each stage of the process. 10%
Serves as the liaison with the Analytics and Data Services processes on a project basis by: assisting in writing data processing (dp) specifications; coordinating client review and approval of dp specifications; and reviewing data processing audits such as source file audits, interim audits, selection audits and mail file audits. 10%
Serves as the liaison with the production process on a project basis by: coordinating the generation of cost estimates, POCs, and change orders; seeking answers from Project Managers when client pricing and production questions arise; developing laser and production instructions; monitoring feedback from the production manager on press checks; requesting postage for mailings; reviewing and approving client billing; and reviewing laser proofs and insertion order sign-offs. 10%
Serves as the liaison with the Creative process on a project basis by: reviewing creative copy and concepts for support of client strategic objectives; coordinating client revisions and subsequent approvals; and coordinating the internal routing of creative documents for quality checks. 10%
Serves as the liaison with the Business Development Executive and Strategic Account Planner assigned to a client project by: reviewing strategic briefs and coordinating client and team approval; managing changes in strategy throughout the term of a project, notifying team members and facilitating discussions with the client; and notifying Business Development Executive of discrepancies in job progression or critical events on projects to ensure client satisfaction and manage overall client relationship. 10%

Education & Knowledge Required
Requires a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or a related field, or requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four years of college, with courses in marketing.
Experience / Skills / Abilities Required
Requires 2-4 years of direct marketing account management experience, preferably servicing the financial services industry, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Requires working knowledge of direct marketing principles and practices.
Requires working knowledge of agency programs and service processes, activities and operational systems.
Requires ability to express ideas clearly both verbally and in writing.
Requires strong presentation skills.
Requires strong problem solving and negotiation skills.
Requires the ability to carry out duties and responsibilities in an organized and detail-oriented manner.
Requires the ability to be self-motivated towards the achievement of established goals.
Requires the ability to complete assigned tasks in accordance with set deadlines.
Requires the ability to monitor expenses and work within a defined budget.
Requires ability to develop and maintain satisfactory working relationships with both the client and internal agency staff members.
Requires ability to work within a team environment.
Requires the ability to maintain confidentiality while working closely with the client regarding all aspects of a campaign.

Requires ability to plan and prioritize projects and to manage them from conception to conclusion, including identifying and resolving problems to ensure project accuracy and timelines.

This individual has contact with current clients, potential clients, external vendors, other account executives, business development executives, and various employees within the following Marketing Services processes: Client Strategy, Analytics and Business Intelligence, Operations, Creative, and Project Services.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
The duties of this position are performed in an office environment requiring extended use of a personal computer, long periods of sitting, and repetitive hand movements. Some travel to client sites may require the use of a vehicle and involve long periods of sitting during travel times. Client presentations may require long periods of standing.
Office
Under direction, plans, coordinates, and manages the execution of direct marketing campaigns, primarily customized solutions, on behalf of the client and in support of client business objectives and prepared strategic plans; serves as the primary point of daily contact for the client with regard to specific projects, which often involves coordination across multiple Harland Clarke locations; and fosters a positive client-company relationship.
