GENCO is currently conducting interviews for a Part-Time Transporation Claims Specialist at our Transportation Logistics Division in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
The Transportation Claims Specialist is responsible for reviewing, filing, pursuing, and substantiating the viability of claims from time of notification to closure of the claim. The span of control ranges from internal customer interaction, external carrier/customer relations, claim resolution, and continuous improvement. This role is focused on claim knowledge/experience, problem resolution, and negotiation skills. This role will have relationships with both internal and external customers as well as vendors.
The Transportation Claims Specialist is responsible for:
- Review all initial paperwork to ensure proper documentation is provided at the time of filing to ensure utmost success of recovery of valid claims.
- Be able to assess the validity of a claim.
- Ability to educate others of claim etiquette in a positive manner to ensure proper support of claim requirements.
- File all valid claims.
- Provide monthly follow up on all outstanding claims. Claims nearing terms should be pursued on a more diligent basis and may require the involvement of the Purchasing Manager for the specific account to uphold the carrier�s contractual commitments to resolving the claim in the term(s)/timeline(s) specified in the contract(s).
- Utilize claim knowledge/experience and strong negotiations skills to refute denials/stances which are not substantiated.
- Use professional judgment to assess the impact of decisions/actions on the customer, carrier and GENCO.
- Analyzing and recommending possible improvement initiatives with a focus on eliminating inefficiencies. Provide root causes analysis of issues, and help to assist in providing possible solutions which could lead to cost reductions and/or service improvements.
- Acting as internal Claims expert for all claim questions and support.
- Build strong internal/external customer and carrier relationships and support the claims process from beginning to end in order to provide the most acceptable outcome to each claim.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- Technical college degree with a minimum 2+ years of relevant transportation claims work experience.
- Proven ability within logistics, operations, customer service, and claims resolution. Intermediate Microsoft Access, Excel and Word experience strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective customer, vendor, and teammate relationships.
- Advanced problem solving and negotiation skills.
- Highly effective oral/written communication skills.
- Ability to interact positively with centralized and decentralized teammates.
- Knowledge of Sterling TMS preferred or advanced experience in another TMS system.
- No travel required.
