Transportation Account Manager-Bordentown, NJ    

job description

The Account Manager oversees a dedicated project for NFI Transportation, and is the person ultimately responsible for that operation. Further, the account manager is responsible for interaction with the customer on both a day-to-day basis, as well as an ongoing basis regarding reviews and continuous improvement. The account manager is additionally responsible for tracking all critical statistical factors for the operation relative to safety, efficiency and profitability, and the implementation of programs to enhance or improve performance in those areas.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 


  • Manages facility and staff, insuring excellent service for the customer, while returning a favorable return for the company 

  • Maintains positive and encouraging working relations with all drivers 

  • Provides constant communications of service issues to appropriate personnel and departments 

  • Monitors all schedules for optimum use of drivers and equipment 

  • Recruits and interviews drivers 

  • Coordinates office staffing and scheduling 

  • Acts as customer service link between NFI and customer representatives and contacts 

  • Provides ongoing training of office staff 

  • Represents NFI Transportation in the local community 

  • Monitors costs and expenditures at the project level 

  • Analyzes and track all P&L categories; analyze monthly P&L 

  • Works with all NFI support staff (Safety, Maintenance, Human Resources, etc.) for operational needs and requirements 

  • Interacts and lends support to the other dedicated operations and the NFI system when needed


job Requirements

Job Related & Physical Requirements: 


  • Ability to travel at a moments notice for perhaps extended periods of time 

  • Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and potentially holidays as needed by the customer

Minimum Experience, Education, and Training Required: 


  • Financial background; P&L experience, familiarity with accounting practices 

  • Strong customer service skills 

  • Strong supervisory skills 

  • Familiarity with PC (Microsoft applications); Word and Excel knowledge preferred 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 

  • Previous dedicated or private fleet background preferred
