For more information on Kawneer or its products, please visit www.kawneer.comThis Plant Occupational Health Nurse will be located at our Springdale, Arkansas plant. You will report to the Plant EHS Manager and perform avariety of medical and clerical office procedures. You will be responsible for the clinical operation of the Kawneer-Springdale Medical Clinic and work with other EHS department staff to facilitate the optimal functioning of the Medical Clinic. This is a day shift oportunity with occasional off hours being necessary.Principal Duties
  • Performs general nursing procedures including, but not limited to, measures and records vital signs; obtains and records medical history, and administers medication in alignment with location approved formulary.
  • Conducts onsite examinations with oversight of location Occupational Health Physician and assists physician with procedures specific to department.
  • Patient care including, but not limited to, nursing assessment of symptomatic patients and appropriate triage, including crisis intervention for care within the Medical Clinic, referral to Occupational Medicine or Urgent Care, or the appropriate Emergency Department.
  • Patient education; arrangement of patient follow-up; emergency patient care; infection control and bio-waste management.
  • Assists in scheduling and performance of examinations in accordance with Occupational Medicine Health Standards.Including, but not limited to, mobile equipment operators, audiograms, heat exposure questionnaires, respirator evaluations and fit testing.
  • Conducting workplace walkthroughs and exposure follow-ups
  • Overseeing location Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT's)/First Responders
  • Ensuring compliance with OSHA and other state and federal health regulations
  • Completes paperwork and managing information including, but not limited to, OHM, sick leave, incident reporting (triple I), Workman's Compensation, OSHA recordability forms, Short Term Disability Coordination, Return To Work coordination.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years emergency room, general care nursing, or occupational nursing
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school of nursing
  • Special training and experience in occupational health required
  • Knowledge of worker's compensation, case management, government regulations
  • Basic life support certification or training
  • Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years experience as an Occupational Helath Nurse
  • CPR training experience
  • Certification to practice occupational health
  • License to practice as a registered nurse in the state of ArkansasActive affiliation with AAOHN
