About Our Facility
HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Vineland is a freestanding 34-bed acute rehabilitation hospital that offers comprehensive rehabilitation services to both inpatients and outpatients. HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Vineland specializes in the treatment of patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, major multiple trauma, amputation, and orthopedic conditions. The hospital offers ample gym space, an aquatic therapy pool, an Activities of Daily Living Suite and the latest in rehabilitation technology.
The hospital is the only provider of acute rehabilitation in Cumberland, Cape May, Gloucester and Salem Counties and is centrally located just off of Route 55 to serve the entire southern New Jersey area.

Job Description
The Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory therapy treatment and patient care according to hospital, state, professional and federal regulations and guidelines. In addition, the position:
Requires effective communication skills for working with patients, families, and caregivers.
Requires effective communication skills for departmental and interdepartmental relationships.
Requires competency in respiratory assessment, care planning, treatment, and re-assessment.
Requires task delegation and supervision of assistants and technicians.
Maintains open and on-going communication with hospital departments to ensure patient, staff, and hospital needs are met.
The Respiratory Therapist creates an environment and culture that enables the hospital to fulfill its mission by providing patient safety and patient-centered treatment.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
License or Certification:
Current State license in Respiratory Therapy.
CPR certification
ACLS preferred
Education, Training and Experience
Successfully completed a Associate's degree or higher from an accredited respiratory therapy program
Machines, Equipment Used:
General office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, computer.
Respiratory Therapy Equipment necessary to administer respiratory therapy treatments and assessments
Physical Requirements:
Good visual acuity and ability to communicate
Ability to lift, push, pull, and retrieve approximately 50 percent of the time.
Ability to safely lift objects weighing minimum of 30 pounds.
Ability to demonstrate safe retrieval skills from above head to floor level with objects up to ten pounds.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend English.
Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner
Ability to communicate effectively in both writing and verbal arenas as well as via email.
Ability to work independently with remote supervision.
Environmental Conditions:
Indoor, temperature controlled, smoke-free environment. Occasional outdoor exposure
Exposure or potential exposure to blood and body fluids may be required.
Handicapped accessibility.
May work under stressful circumstances at times.
Proficiency or Productivity Standards:
May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and or night shifts if needed to meet deadlines.
May be required to work on religious and/or legal holidays on scheduled days/shifts.
Will be required to work as necessary during disaster situations, i.e. before, during or after a disaster.
May be required to stay after workday to assist after a disaster situation until relief arrives.
Regular attendance and reporting on time to work is a requirement of position.
