The Vice President of Information Management is responsible for leading and coaching a team of developers, analysts, project managers, and managers.  Responsibilities include; managing all aspects related to a portfolio of systems focusing on Data Warehouse/Reporting, Collaboration Systems, Content Management and Publication.

  • Perform analysis of existing information systems, applications, and processes to evaluate effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Develop quality and performance SLAs and metrics for application delivery
  • Oversee all aspects of the application release cycle; coordinating with Production Services and the Application Development managers
  • Take overall ownership of department budget
  • Ensure that the department runs smoothly by keeping lines of communication open within the team as well as with other teams.
  • Make decisions related to their systems, projects, and people.
  • Provide contextual information to team members to help them understand how their contributions impact the organization.
  • Identify and manage project risk and scope creep.
  • Create a positive work environment and break down barriers that prevent the team from being successful
  • Working with the management team in creating a vision and roadmap for each system
  • Set SMART goals for team members and executes regular performance evaluations based on those goals.
  • Ensure that the systems are supportable and that risk is identified and, where possible, eliminated.
  • Contribute where needed in an effort to make the company successful.

 

Minimum Education Required:  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required

 

Minimum Experience Required: (including years of experience) 10+ years IT experience with a minimum of 8 years in financial services technology

 

  

Software/Systems Skills Required:

  • Experience in managing teams of software developers and support personnel
  • Strong background in SOA and message based architectures
  • Experience in Content Management, Collaboration and Web Publishing
  • Experience in the design, development and support of financial advisory systems
  • Experience in database architecture and performance with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle
  • Strong Data Warehouse experience in both Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle; Waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of the broker dealer business is required
  • Knowledge and experience in managing application development efforts in support of Portfolio Accounting, Reporting Services, Performance, Trading and Custody systems
  • Experience in implementing and managing projects using the Microsoft Solutions Framework (MSF)
  • Knowledge of SOX and other audit controls is a plus
