Marketing Strategy & Insights Manager

 
The successful candidate will have a strong balance of marketing strategy or brand strategy expertise utilizing customer insights. Responsible for managing the development of insights generation through multiple sources including custom research and secondary sources. Focus will be on execution and use of those insights to drive actionable marketing and customer strategies in order to help grow the business, transform the customer experience, and retain profitable membership for all WellPoint brands and business. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:  Acts as a partner in business planning process at the local, regional and enterprise level.  Leverages customer and market information to proactively identify and assess new business opportunities to create customer value and profitably grow the business.  Integrate and organize information from multiple sources to form a complete picture of customers, markets, and growth opportunities.  Deliver strategies and recommend plans that connect overall corporate growth and business objectives with marketing strategies and programs.
 
Champion the voice of the customer with business leaders by providing customer and market knowledge that proactively drives informed business decisions and minimizes risk.  Assists in the development, coordination, and communication of an annual Research & Analysis plan and calendar for designated business partners. Manage and evaluate all work provided by outside agencies and vendors.



Requirements Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred. 5-7 years experience in marketing, brand, and consumer insights with proven ability to develop business transformation strategies based on market- and customer-centric information and analysis.  Strongly prefer experience in consumer industries such as Pharmaceuticals or packaged goods, Health insurance or Health-related industry experience a plus.
 
Strong cross-functional expertise and the ability to thrive in a highly complex environment.  Strategic and analytical expertise and critical decision-making skills.  Proven business acumen in identifying and assessing revenue growth opportunities.  Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and team building skills, including relationship management, persuasion and negotiation skills required.   Excellent written & oral communication skills, including presentation skills, at both detailed and executive levels.   Ability to interact effectively at higher levels of the organization.  Must be able to travel at least 20%.
 
Position can be located in one of several WLP office locations - Indianapolis, Mason, North Haven, Louisville, Thousand Oaks, New York, Richmond or Roanoke.
