Job Description
Tetra Tech, Inc. is a large water resources and environmental consulting firm. Our Surface Water Group is currently looking for a senior water resources engineer who is interested in working on cutting-edge aquatic projects throughout the Pacific Northwest. Responsibilities – Position will have project management and business development responsibilities. Typical projects include river and wetland restoration, fish passage culvert design and construction, flood control, fluvial geomorphology and sediment transport, levee design, dam rehabilitation and watershed management. Primary clients include U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Natural Resources Conservation Service, and counties, municipalities, and local agencies throughout the Northwest. The selected candidate will oversee the preparation of engineering designs, plans, specifications, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and comprehensive design reports for proposed facilities including culverts, levees, channels, grade control and bank stabilization structures, hydraulic control structures, bioengineered restoration features, and other projects. The candidate will serve as the primary contact with the client, managing projects to meet client requirements and expectations. 
Job Requirements
Requirements – BS in civil engineering or other closely related field with 15+ years professional experience or MS in civil engineering or other closely related field with 12+ years of experience.
State of Oregon Professional Engineering registration or ability to obtain through interstate reciprocity. Requires completion of internal PM training upon hire. Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record, with ability to operate 2wd and 4wd vehicles. A sense of humor is a plus and a willingness to mentor is required.
 
Previous Experience – Proven track record in water resources-related work for federal, state and local agencies in the Northwest preferred. At least 10 years experience with hydrologic, hydraulic and geomorphic evaluation and documentation primarily on Northwest rivers and stream systems. Familiarity with and ability to perform quality control reviews on federal hydrologic and hydraulic models such as HEC-RAS, HEC-GeoRAS, HEC-HMS, HEC-GeoHMS, SITES, SAM, HEC-6, WinTR-20, and WinTR-55. Familiarity with other proprietary models (e.g. FLO-2D, RMA) is a plus. Extensive experience in civil design-related work for federal, state and local agencies. Ability to oversee and review Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) submittals in AutoCAD or Microstation is a requirement. Familiarity with civil design tools such as InRoads or Civil3D is a plus.
 
Experience in supervising multi-disciplinary teams with engineers, biologists, economists, geomorphologists, and planners and a minimum of 5 years project management experience. Individual must demonstrate strong leadership, management, business development, communication, technical, organizational, and supervisory skills. Individual should have a developed professional network.
