Job Description
Join Truman Medical Centers Nutrition Services Team! We have an immediate opening for a professional Cook to work on a full-time basis at TMC Lakewood, our suburban hospital, located near Lee?s Summit, in South Kansas City, Missouri.
As a professional Cook for Truman Medical Center Lakewood, you will be responsible for preparing food for cafeteria patrons and medical staff. Responsibilities include following menus and the production summary to determine the type and quality of foods, obtaining measures and mixing ingredients according to recipes, preparing or supervising washing, trimming, cooking, and seasoning of food items for each meal, observing and testing food being cooked, carving portions of food for individual servings, and maintaining cooking area in a clean, neat and orderly manner.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to possess and maintain a current City of Kansas City, City of Independence, Jackson County, or Clay County, Missouri Food Handler?s Permit, the ability to follow a recipe, use scales and operate large kitchen equipment, and the ability to bend, twist, stoop, push and lift large containers of hot food. One year experience in the preparation of large quantities of food using standardized recipes is preferred.
