Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Process Engineer opening.

 

Day to Day (what a typical day or week look like in this role):

The Project Engineer - Synthetic Organic Chemist position will apply knowledge of required sciences to design and formulate improved dosage products that are stable, cost effective solutions to meet defined market needs and objectives.  This will support multiple product categories within the Technology Organization and requires a solid fundamental background in chemical formulation.  The ideal candidate would be able to analyze current formulations and also convert new concepts and technologies into commercially applicable formulations to help drive innovation.  Effective project management or coordination skills are required to meet established goals and objectives. Clear conceptual understanding of the thermodynamics of mixing, emulsification, crystallization, interfacial phenomena and phase equilibria is required for this role.  The ability to plan and execute laboratory research, initiate and generate technical data to support patent filings and business opportunities and to work independently is essential to this career. 

 

What You Will Do:


  • Research, design and development of product system technologies that create a compelling value proposition for our customers and our business.

  • Optimization of system performance, reliability and cost.

  • Identification, analysis, and execution of system refinement needs.

  • Data acquisition, analysis, and evaluation.

  • Active participation in technical project reviews and innovation.

Requirements
What You Need To Succeed:


  • B.S. in Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Formulation Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Chemical Engineering, Chemical Process, Applied Physics, Food Science, or Material Sciences and 7 years of Formulation experience

  • Laundry or dish detergent formulation experience is highly preferred

  • M.S. 3-5 years or Ph.D. 2 years experience in formulation development will also be considered

  • Possess strong laboratory skills that will aid in formulation, product stability, and hands-on experience with analytical lab instrumentation (pH, viscometer, spectrometer, chromatography, etc.​)

  • Previous experience managing multiple projects

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Excellent strategic thought leadership capabilities

  • Demonstrated interest and ability in thinking across disciplines and across teams

  • Excellent track record of accomplishment of goals and objectives

  • Outstanding people skills, with the specific ability to interact and leverage resources in a highly networked and team environment

  • Ability to work independently and as a self-starter


 

Additional Preferred Skills and Competencies:

 


  • Desire to work with a global systems team

  • Experience in consumer product formulation

  • Experience in unit operations involved in the manufacturing of different dosage forms as well as set-up of pilot plants.

  • Experience in external partner development and management

  • Experience in intellectual property documentation and development
