Located in Columbus, Ohio, the Ohio Orthopedic Center of Excellence offers the highest quality orthopedic care from the area’s most respected orthopedic physician specialists, surgeons and rehab providers. Outpatient surgery, state-of-the-art MRI and X-ray, pain management blocks and electro-diagnostic testing, complete arthritis care, a fully-equipped Osteoporosis Prevention and Treatment Center, arthroscopy, bone density testing, total sports care, performance enhancement programs, and full-service rehabilitation and physical therapy are all available at the Ohio Orthopedic Center of Excellence.

Physical Therapist Duties and Responsibilities



General Summary of Duties:

The staff Physical Therapist is directly responsible to the Director, and/or his designee, and has the responsibility for overall direction, utilization, supervision, instruction, and evaluation of professional and supportive staff, volunteers, and students in their area of the physical therapy department/facility. We treat patients of all ages, infants, children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, and the elderly in a patient centered practice model.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the evaluation and treatment of all patients referred for physical therapy.

  • Advise referral sources regarding the need for continued or additional services.

  • Maintain a patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the department/facility and of a patient centered model.

  • Confer with the person(s) most closely associated with the active management of the patient and to keep them informed of any additional patient needs, treatment modification, and/or progress.

  • Prepare and submit department/facility reports, assuring confidentiality of all records, including evaluation, discharge, progress reposts and others as requested by the Director and/or Supervisor.

  • Deliver care to patients in a manner consistent with State of Ohio Licensure and APTA Guidelines.

  • Prepare and present educational presentations to other health care professionals and community groups as requested.

Education/Certification or Experience Required

 

 

 

  • Must be a graduate of and have a certificate from an institution approved by either  American Physical Therapy Association or by the World Congress of Physical Therapy

  • MPT or DPT preferred, new grads welcome!!

  • Current Ohio licensure is required.

  • Must maintain and provide verification card for CPR certification including BLS/ AED training.

  • Must be familiar with the American Physical Therapy Association Code of Ethics

  • No experience required. New grads welcome!
