Targeted Employment Specialist

Description JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for assisting in the support of recruitment and regulatory compliance issues at GCE contract locations. Duties will include: the development of appropriate referral sources, recruiting persons with disabilities for employment, securing appropriate disability documentation, providing assistance to employees regarding workplace accommodation, evaluating and documenting employee performance and necessary vocational supports, and generating initial and annual performance reports of the disabled workforce. Develop relationships with potential referral sources. Create and provide opportunities to educate community referral sources about GCE mission and opportunities. Serve as outreach liaison between external customers and GCE. Conduct outreach and recruitment of persons with severe disabilities. Secure appropriate documentation on potential candidates for employment. Conduct initial and annual performance evaluations on severely disabled workforce. Facilitate the retention of personnel at assigned locations. Assist Project Managers with rehabilitation and accommodation issues as they arise. Provide training on AbilityOne/GCE mission as needed. These responsibilities do not reflect all duties the incumbent will be required to perform. This description serves as an overview only. Salary is based on experience. Excellent fringe benefits. Requirements

FULL TIME MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: THIS POSITION WILL BE LOCATED IN THE FORT LEWIS, WASHINGTON AREA. Two (2) or more years of experience in working with persons with disabilities in a service provision organization. Must have the ability to evaluate and document necessary vocational supports. Experience needed in community networking and referral development. Knowledge of Ability One set-aside regulations a plus. Must possess a valid driver's license, good driving record and be insurable under LCI/GCE policy.
