Description RN / Registered Nurse ( NIGHT / PRN )

Will be responsible for being a healthcare team player and making judgmental decisions, supervises planning, implements the plan of care, and evaluates the outcome of the total care process.

She/he is responsible to the Charge Nurse, Nurse Manager, and Director of Clinical Services.

She/he supervises LPNs, CNAs, and Unit Secretaries.

Has daily contact with members of the medical staff, nursing service and other departments.

Must be able utilize the nursing and rehabilitation process to provide patient care.

Complete a nursing assessment of each patient upon admission and initiates a plan of care within 24 hours.

Consistently updates the nursing care plans and records changes by identification of specific problems and needs of each patient.

Implements appropriate nursing actions and interventions based upon the patient’s specific needs as they occur via documentation and communication of individual problems.

Completes patient care records accurately with proper signatures, ie. Nursing history and assessment, nursing care plans, nurses’ notes, flow sheets, MARs, etc. 

Practice universal precautions at all times and is knowledgeable of universal precautions procedures.

Attend unit meetings, education classes, and in-services.

Requirements

Qualifications

1. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
2. Must hold a current MS state license and must maintain license by yearly renewal through the specific MS state licensing board
3. Long term acute care and rehabilitation experience is preferred
4. CPR Certification required
5. ACLS Certification preferred
6. Good verbal and written communications skills
