Team Leader

• Flexibility in scheduling is required based on business needs
• Ability to work in a cold environment or fluctuating ambient environment
• Work involves walking and standing for long periods and some lifting between 35-65 pounds required
• Warehouse areas of operations can vary in size, volume and number of SKUs; Inbound or outbound responsibilities, level of automation; hours of operations; capacity & accuracy constraints and the impact of errors on business operations

Purpose of job:

Distribution Team Leaders are responsible for leading incredible customer service, and managing department operations within Wegmans warehouse facilities. In addition, they partner with human resources and employees to provide a profitable, compliant, fair and consistent and harassment free work environment and bring the Who We Are statement to life.

• Assuring accountability for productivity standards that exceed budgetary goals and customer expectations.
• Interfacing with other management team members and transportation to ensure the highest possible level of service.
• Ensuring incredible service is provided throughout the entire supply chain by holding employees accountable for delivering the right product to the right place at the right time
• Ensuring product is properly loaded and ship ready in all distribution facilities
• Driving employee well-being and safety initiatives to reduce worker’s compensation costs and promote a healthy and productive environment.
• Facilitating recommendations for reducing waste (damage) and improving efficiency
• Meeting established goals for productivity (ex. CPMH, over time, etc.)
• Ensuring personal and departmental tasks are prioritized and completed efficiently
• Shares resources throughout the division and acts as a team player in servicing the customer
