As of now, Total Transportation Systems, Inc. (TTSI)  is accepting applications and resumes for a qualified Safety Coordinator.



 

The ideal Safety Coordinator will have:

 

  • Two (2) to Three (3) Years of transportation experience (preferably Drayage)

 

  • Excellent computer skills

 

  • The Ability to multi-task 

 

  • Effective speaking ability (with the English Language)

 


 

Safety Coordinator Job Responsibilities:


 

  • Proof read documents for accuracy.

 

  • Manage large amounts of information on excel spreadsheets and access for keeping track of Preventative Maintenance, DOT inspections, expiration dates for driver personal information. Ensure accuracy and update as needed.

 

  • Audit Hours of Service Logs for violations and follow up as needed.

 

  • Conduct Physical pre-trip inspections of Independent Owner Operator equipment to ensure safe operation.

 

  • Complete compliance forms such as IFTA, Trip Permits, and State Carrier ID requests.

 

  • Support the Warehouse Corporate Safety initiative by monitoring OSHA, FDA, Local, State and Federal regulations through audits, training and applicable supervision.

 

  • Support a companywide Safety initiative to prevent accidents and injuries.

 

  • Complete accident reports and assist in investigations.

 

  • Work closely with corporate safety to file insurance claims.

 

  • Resolve driver, vendor and internal customer issues as it relates to safety, equipment and regulations.

 

  • Create daily and weekly reports from database.

 

  • Communicate daily with drivers & vendors.

 

  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and keep the corporate safety Manager advised of the division’s current safety status.

 

  • Professional and Positive attitude with ability to handle stress with equanimity.

 

  • Complete various tasks as needed including special assignments and/or day to day responsibilities from division operation managers.

 


 

Requirements

 

  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint & Access).

 

  • Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to meet deadlines.

 

  • Must be computer savvy and have the ability to quickly learn various computer programs.

 

  • Must be able to communicate messages verbally and in writing clearly and grammatically correct.

 

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.

 

  • Must be able to climb, bend, kneel and stretch safely (required when working around transportation equipment).
