Marian University has an outstanding opportunity for a qualified, highly energetic, and ambitious professional to help lead its School of Business.

 

The Dean of the School of Business is one of five academic deans of the university reporting to the Provost. Internally the dean is responsible for strategic and operational planning for the School, promoting faculty and program development, managing budget priorities, maintaining accreditation, and representing the School within the Marian University community. The dean has direct oversight of the undergraduate degree programs offered by the School of Business and will take on an outstanding opportunity to exercise creative leadership in teaching and learning and in establishing a new vision for the school. Financial resources have been obtained which will allow the new dean to explore and implement entrepreneurial activities in undergraduate and graduate curriculum development and programming, delivery mechanisms, and partnerships. These could include internal school-to-school collaboration in leadership, healthcare, and/or education. Externally the dean is responsible for representing the school and its programs to the broader community through external partnerships and advisory boards that promote the academic mission of the School, fundraising, grant writing and strengthening alumni relations. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of practical experience, energy, and vision that will be a transforming influence in making the School of Business a community and educational leader.

 

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • An earned doctorate in business or a related field from an accredited institution
  • Academic administrative experience at or above the department chair level
  • Record of sustained intellectual and professional achievement
  • Commitment to collegiality and collaborative decision-making
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to the integration of liberal and professional learning and the creation of a vibrant campus life in a Catholic, Franciscan environment
