Description

Our client, a major petrochemical company, is searching for an HR Generalist with 10-15 years of experience preferably in the in the domestic petrochemical industry.  NON-UNION experience is required.  This position will be located at their plant in LaPorte, Texas.  In addition, this person with be the HR manager for two PVC sites.

Job Description:

Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of their employees, customers, and the communities in which they operate and/or transport products, as the highest priority.

* Maintain a working knowledge of the Process Safety and Risk Management objectives for the facility. Ensure the goal setting process and individual position descriptions reflect Process Safety and Risk Management principles and responsibilities.

* Interpret and implement corporate policies and government regulations.

* Develop, implement, and interpret plant policies and procedures.

* Develop and conduct training and developmental programs to enhance employee skills, performance, and the work environment. Experience with TrainingMine is a plus.

* Provide guidance to supervision to resolve employee problems and issues.

* Responsible for all employment activities at the Houston sites, including college relations and recruiting.

* Oversee the administration of the operations and maintenance staffing process at the technician level.

* Spend a significant amount of time in the plant to increase communications, resolve questions and concerns, and enhance accessibility to employees.

* Conduct investigations and propose solutions to workplace issues.

* Assist in representing management at the communications meetings.

* Provide support to the Human Resources Manager and cover as backup in his/her absence.

 

 

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

BSBA degree with 10 to 15 years related experience preferably in the petrochemical industry.

NON-UNION EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.

General familiarity with the laws that impact human resource policies and decisions.
