Internship Opportunities (spring 2009)

As rue21 continues to grow, so is our internship program. An internship with rue21 in Warrendale, PA will allow you to apply classroom knowledge to a professional environment while obtaining insight into the fast paced and exciting industry of fashion retail. 

We are seeking interns for FALL 2009 in various departments.

Allocation

Assist the Allocation and Planning team with analyzing the merchandise on various levels, including location, climate, store type, etc. in order to better distribute the correct assortment of fashion to our stores.

Information Technology  

To will learn how support is administered to rue21’s corporate, distribution center and store’s systems. It will also allow for the gaining/furthering of knowledge in the following computer programs: AS/400 Microsoft NT or XP, and Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook), and POS software.

Merchandise Buying

Support Buyers and Assistant Buyers in tracking and analyzing the merchandise, including assortment planning. Accurately process vendor samples, gather information from fit sessions, and assist in maintaining overall organization of the merchandising area.

Planning

Assistant Planning team in analyzing sales data, making sales-driven recommendations. Maintain plan codes, subclasses and vendor/style recaps for selling reports.

Housing is not provided.

• Pursing or recently graduated with an Associate or Bachelors degree
• Desire to gain experience in a corporate retail environment
• Organized with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently, while collaborating with the team on select projects
• Strong oral, written, communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and mathematical skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Ability to adapt to new software programs
