Role Summary Responsible for delivering quality clinical services to assigned clients. Develops clinical strategies and provides clinical consulting functions to clients with respect to formulary management, drug utilization management, and drug information. Involved in account retention activities. Leads P&T meetings at client locations. Requires pharmacy licensure. Major Duties The pharmacy clinical account manager will be the key contact concerning the pharmacy benefit plan for both clients and internal CIGNA Healthcare sales partners. The pharmacy clinical account manager will be is responsible for account retention and expected to provide strategic pharmacy management options, such as plan design changes and clinical management programs, and interpret pharmacy coverage rules based on CIGNA policies and evidence based medicine guidelines. In addition the pharmacy clinical account manager needs to be available, respond quickly, and resolve issues in a timely fashion. The pharmacy clinical account manager will need to be willing to travel at least three days per week on average. The employee in this role will lead pharmacy presentations to varied audiences including the client and their constituencies.

The ideal candidate will have experience with managed pharmacy benefits and the Pharmacy Benefit Manager industry. It will be necessary to have excellent project management and communication skills. The individual in this role will be expected to interact with CIGNA Healthcare Matrix partners to resolve issues to the clients satisfaction.

Requirements Responsibilities
  • Interpret client claim experience and provide strategic opportunities to meet the client¿s pharmacy benefit management strategy
  • Be available to client and CIGNA Healthcare partners to respond to inquiries within a timely manner
  • Account retention
  • Monitor performance guarantees
  • Work with CIGNA matrix partners to resolve issues
  • Interpret and explain pharmacy coverage guidelines based on CIGNA policy and evidence based medicine guidelines
  • Maintain a client issue log and reports for senior management
  • Miscellaneous projects with the Director of clinical account management Qualifications Licensed pharmacist (PharmD or RPH)
  • Pharmacy consulting experience with large clients.
  • Has outstanding career experience in providing strategic support and direction to a large client base.
  • Is highly analytical in experience and nature.
  • Has extensive knowledge of pharmacy business and/or benefit management.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills and strong negotiations skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage matrix relationships.
  • Has previous experience in client management.
  • Must be willing to travel three to five days per week.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple and divergent priorities and deadlines, work independently and pro-actively, negotiate and manage expectations for mutually acceptable solutions and creatively problem-solve effective customer solutions.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Proven ability to identify and solve process issues and problems.
  • Experience working in a matrix environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi task.
  • Demonstrated success dealing with highly demanding customers
