SUPPLY CHAIN PLANNER - Kansas City

The Supply Chain Planner will be responsible for effectively coordinating the materials management, production and distribution of manufactured goods and components. Primary tasks are developing “least-cost" manufacturing models that consider capacity and material constraints, ensuring high service levels to the customer, and resolving potential problems. This includes analyzing demand requirements and managing inventory levels within appropriate limits. Will have overall accountability for assigned product groups with regard to their timely manufacture and availability. Daily communication with all areas of Operations to include Executive Staff.

Key Skills:

·        Progressive problem-solving with cost-based analytical skills in the areas of manufacturing, storage, transportation, and obsolescence risk.

·        Knowledgeable in business principles to ensure strategic business plan is met or exceeded, guaranteeing acceptable return on investment.

·        High level of professionalism, sound judgment, and integrity.

·        Able to gather, organize and prioritize a wide array of information.

·        Excellent communication skills needed to explain and report on complex issues.

·        Able to serve as a key information resource to the entire organization regarding product availability.

Qualifications:

·        1-3 years supply chain experience in a production planning, or inventory management role.

·        B.S. degree in Business or Industrial Engineering with an emphasis in supply chain management or related field.

·        Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and APICS certification a strong plus.

·        Working knowledge of Supply Chain policies and practices, Master Production Scheduling (MPS), Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP).

·        Specific experience in Advanced Planning Systems (APS) and familiarity with an ERP systems environment.
