Founded in 1989, Pennsylvania MENTOR is a leading home and community-based human services provider serving children and adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities, as well as emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges.  We offer a range of innovative services, including our Therapeutic Foster Care and Lifesharing programs, school and family-based supports, autism services and other programs to enhance the lives of individuals and families throughout the state.
 
Position Summary

Pennsylvania MENTOR's Center City Philadelphia office currently has an opportunity for a Master's level professional to provide individual and family therapy to children placed in our Community Residential Rehabilitation (CRR) program.  The Clinical Coordinator will provide weekly therapy and supportive services to both the child and the Mentor (foster parent) and carry an caseload of approximately 15 children.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and revise each child's comprehensive treatment plan and behavior management intervention
  • Participate in monthly medication management visits with MENTOR's psychiatrists
  • Provde education and skill training to the foster parents
  • Communicate regularly with the natural family, managed care & county agencies
  • Ensure all documentation is completed for funding authorizations
  • Provide crisis management
  • Maintain ongoing documentation as required by county contractual agreements, state regulations, and MCO guidelines
Requirements
    • Master's Degree in social work, psychology, or other related human services field
    • Minimum two years experience in providing counseling/therapy to children and/or adolescents
    • Experience with foster care and family therapy is preferred
    • Should have familiarity with case management techniques
    • Ability to respond well to crisis situations
    • Positive communications skills, and the ability to work in a team environment
    • Must have an understanding of child welfare and mental health systems, good organization, and excellent time management skills 
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule - some weekday evening hours (up to 8:00 pm) to accommodate the scheduling needs of clients and families may be required
