Hospitality Management Faculty, Full-Time

Description Community College of Philadelphia seeks to fill two full time, tenure track Hospitality Management positions. One position for Spring 2010 and the other for Fall 2010.  The successful candidate will have the ability to teach a full range of hospitality management courses, which include entry-level and advanced theoretical and lab courses. Ability to integrate current trends in the hospitality industry into all courses. Strong organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with and have a full knowledge and understanding of multi-cultural populations. Proficiency in related industry software and ability to use technology to enhance learning. Ability to teach a variety of first and second year hospitality courses during the day, evening, and weekend at the Main Campus, Regional Centers, or neighborhood locations as required. Ability to communicate well with students, colleagues, and hospitality industry professionals. Ability to network with industry professionals outside of the College as required. Knowledge and/or willingness to develop and present distance education and web enhanced courses. Commitment to participating in the intellectual life of the department, and a willingness to participate in the life of the College through leadership in department and college-wide committees. Active in national and/or regional hospitality industry professional organizations.

Requirements Master's Degree from an accredited institution in Hospitality Management or Hotel and Resort Management or Restaurant Management or Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management or Tourism and Hospitality Management or Food Marketing or Hospitality Administration or Tourism and Travel Management or Hotel, Casino and Resort Management or Restaurant and Bar Management or Hotel and Restaurant Management

or

MBA with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Hospitality Management or Hotel and Resort Management or Restaurant Management or Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management or Tourism and Hospitality Management or Food Marketing or Hospitality Administration or Tourism and Travel Management or Hotel, Casino and Resort Management or Restaurant and Bar Management or Hotel and Restaurant Management

* Minimum two years of recent college teaching experience in the subject area, preferably at the community college level.

*Minimum five years work experience as a manager or supervisor in the hospitality industry.

Curriculum development experience and current ServSafe certification preferred.
