Description
The Program Specialist is the person responsible for designing and directing the implementation of a comprehensive plan that provides goals and strategies for ensuring the execution of all placement activities for the designated caseload of 12 children placed in the Therapeutic Family Care Program. The Program Specialist provides intensive therapeutic services to children, their families and the therapeutic families in settings other than a provider agency or office. The Program Specialist also identifies behavior goals and intervention techniques, and recommends non-aversive behavioral change methods. The Program Specialist will contribute to the service and safety planning, all within the agency and state standards and regulations.
The Program Specialist will also assist the program supervisor and County Director in marketing strategies, treatment, recruitment, training and approval activities of TFC/FCP families.
The Program Specialist/Coordinator position requires non-traditional hours, on-call responsibilities and heavy traveling in the locale of the site office (Allegheny, Armstrong, Indiana, and Westmoreland Counties) as well as occasional travel throughout the commonwealth.
Requirements
Master’s Degree in a Human Service related field.
Must also have at least two years of relevant experience working with children in the mental health or child welfare system.
