Description

CCMS is looking for a certifified Occupational Therapy Assistant/Technician to work at the Warriors in Transition Unit at Fort Wainright in Fairbanks, AK.

 

Full time position with full benefits including heath, dental, paid time off, 401k, Aflac.

 

 

Job Duties to Include:

 

1)  Under general supervision of an Occupational Therapist, carry out specialized and complex treatment including physical agent modalities, orthotics/splinting, therapeutic exercise, and purposeful and occupational-based activities.

 

2)  Utilize standard occupational therapy materials, equipment, and supplies within the main clinic, or outlying clinics within the Alaskan Warriors in Transition Battalion.

 

3)  Consult with other members of the rehabilitative team to coordinate therapeutic program for individuals and group patients.

 

4)  Prepare and present reports on patient’s progress in and reactions to occupational therapy using required hospital database.

 

5)  Evaluate emotional, mental and physical condition of patients through activity and specific evaluation tests.

 

6)  Provide patient progress reports to Occupational Therapist(s) assigned to the clinic.

 

7) Work with patient and family concerning appropriate occupational therapy home program.

 

8)  Evaluate patient’s progress, attitudes and behavior as related to their rehabilitative potential through activity.

 

9)  Share in responsibility for therapeutic milieu and related decisions.

 

10)  Conduct group dynamics sessions.

 

11).  Conduct group rehabilitation sessions.

 

12)  Attend clinic, department, and hospital in-services and meetings as requested by the Chief of the service.

 

13) Maintain records, as required.  Use the various clinical automation systems as required, such as, but not limited to CHCS, AHLTA, and DMHRSi.  The HCP shall be responsible for completing patient records in accordance with Army regulations and BACH policies.

 

Requirements

 

 Job Requirements:

 

1) Must have at least 2 years experience working as a Certified Occupational Therapist (COTA)

 

2) CPR/BLS certification required throught the American Heart Association or Red Cross.

 

3) Must be certified and hold a state license as a certified occupational therapist
