Galen School of Nursing, a private educational institution focused exclusively on nursing education, is currently seeking a part-time science laboratory/teaching assistant for the campus located in Louisville, KY. 

Pay Rate: $10.00/hour

Schedule: approx. 20 hours per week

Schedule to be determined based on available and need. The schedule is subject to change and the assistant would also work a reduced schedule during each break week when school is not in session between quarters.

Required Job Duties:

·        Set up and break down labs for Anatomy & Physiology I, Anatomy & Physiology II and Microbiology, which includes working with slides, models, dissection specimens/trays/tools, dye sets and other equipment.

·        Maintain the lab and keep it in good working order by completing inventory, replenishing necessary supplies, cleaning equipment and completing administrative tasks (making copies, etc.) as necessary.

·        Assist with teaching labs for Anatomy & Physiology I, Anatomy & Physiology II and Microbiology by supervising lab sessions, grading exams /quizzes /assignments, covering Open Lab hours, recording grades, etc.

·        Other duties as assigned.

Successful applicant must have:

·        High School Diploma (or G.E.D) and 2 years of college, including courses in Biology (1 yr, college level), Chemistry (1 yr, high school or college) and Anatomy & Physiology (1 yr, high school or college), are required.

·        Additional coursework in Organic Chemistry and Microbiology (1 semester, college) is a plus.
