TWO LOCATIONS: - 1). ZANESVILLE, OH &  2). LIMA, OH

The Director, Operations is accountable for the overall business management of branch, including the development of new programs to meet the needs of the community.  Acts as a liaison with the administrative staff of any affiliated health facility.  Assumes a sales function for gaining additional business opportunities outside current affiliations.

 

1.         Adheres to the Corporate Compliance Program, including confidentiality of HIPAA protected health information.

2.         Develops and implements short-term (quarterly) and long-term (annually) strategic plans that support quarterly business plans developed at the branch and supported by the Support Services level.  Responsible for the revision of goals and plans per quarter as agreed upon with the RA.

3.         Responsible for successful financial operation of branch.  Participates in development of operating budget; responsible for annual budget; P&L Analysis; A/R and problem billing issues.  Reviews statistical and financial reports; develops plans and revises as needed to meet or exceed financial goals.

4.         Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and orienting direct reports in branch.  Works with and supervises personnel in branch by providing opportunities for instruction, guidance and counseling as necessary to ensure complete understanding of responsibilities.  Coordinates with Regional Administrator and Director, Human Resources for hiring/firing activities as necessary.  Monitors productivity of direct reports and implements changes as needed.

5.         Responsible for business growth, including sales/marketing strategies for obtaining revenue goals to include a minimum of 10 face-to-face sales calls every week.

6.         Ensures the branch’s compliance with governmental standards and regulations for licensure and certification.  Serves as an ex-officio member of the Professional Advisory Group (PAG).

7.         Oversees and monitors patient/client care services delivered.  Responsible for recruitment and management of staff and the implementation of policies and programs to ensure customer satisfaction. 

8.         Assesses customer satisfaction surveys and Press Ganey Results.  Implements plan to improve and assesses plan every month.  Reevaluates as necessary.

9.         Responsible for obtaining accurate annual market studies and submitting commensurate recommendations for bill/pay rate changes.

10.     Responsible for quarterly competitive analysis in branch market per quarter.  Assessment of branch products and branch opportunity completed at this time.  Review with RA/COO.

11.     Monitors recruitment/retention in branch and assess cost of advertising/direct hire.  Reviews weekly with Employment Coordinator.

12.     Responsible for weekly staff meeting to discuss marketing, referral, conversion rates, client census, discharges, A/R, recruitment, advertising, etc.  Weekly meeting minutes kept in branch.

13.     Responsible for bi-monthly review of A/R and follow-up on A/R, out>120 days, on-going communication with RA and reimbursement department.

14.     Responsible for management of KPIs, OCS/CMS quality improvement indicators, HHRG/Case mix weight report.

15.     On-going ability to coach and motivate staff.  Assists staff through change with positive attitude.

16.     Knowledgeable of JCAHO standards, ANC P&P, Federal, State and County rules and regulations, ability to apply to daily operations.

17.     Interacts with and seeks assistance of Support Services to benefit business activity within branches.  Acts as a liaison between branch and Support Services as necessary.

 

 

 

 

Requirements

1.         Bachelor’s degree in health care management or nursing preferred.

2.         Three (3) to five (5) years management in health related field or home health (preferred).

3.         One (1) year minimum experience in operations and finance.

4.         Excellent communication skills – written and verbal

5.         Computer literate with skills in Microsoft office (Word/Excel)

6.         Ability to travel to corporate office; overnight stays may be necessary.
