Description Engagement Details: 

Executive / Director level accountant who has very strong inventory management accounting process  experience to assess the “as is" state of our clients inventory accounting methods.  The goal will be to design an approach and  develop the “to be" state of a Corporate Inventory Accounting Department for a multi billion dollar publicly traded manufacturing corporation.  The Corporate Inventory Department's goal will be to provide consistent application of accounting methods for their inventory across 80+ manufacturing plants worldwide. 

 

This is a 1 to 3 year long engagement.

The critical experience and skills needed for this project are below. 

 

  • Extensive inventory accounting management process experience – develop an approach from scratch to tackle the task to implement a new Corporate Inventory Accounting Department by identifying critical controls, weaknesses, risks, areas for improvement.

  • Project Management Skills - developing a project plan, implementing and follow through of the project through each phase.
  • VERY detail oriented with a strong sense of ownership for the project success.
  • Top communication skills even through difficult situations at all levels of an organization
  • Ability to drive projects from beginning to end, manage others to meet deadlines and ability to roll up sleeves and jump in wherever and whenever needed so deadlines are milestones are met.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional accounting experience in a corporate setting specifically in consulting or a leadership role.
  • Manufacturing industry experience - specifically with a fundamental knowledge of inventory management processes and best practices as it relates to implementing best practices for streamlining processes and procedures across a global manufacturing corporation.
  • Project Management Skills - developing a project plan, implementing and follow through of the project through each phase.
  • VERY detail oriented with a strong sense of ownership for the project success.
  • Top communication skills even through difficult situations at all levels of an organization
  • Ability to drive projects from beginning to end, manage others to meet deadlines and ability to roll up sleeves and jump in wherever and whenever needed so deadlines are milestones are met.  
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • APICS or CPIM helpful
  • Ability to pass our background check process.
