Regional Medical Center of San Jose stands out as one of the top trauma facilities in the Bay Area and continues to add new and improved services to benefit patients. The hospital currently stands at over 200 beds with expansion efforts underway to increase to 262 beds. A recent partnership with Stanford University Medical Center allows Regional to offer the Stanford Cardiothoracic Surgery Program. With six centers of excellence, including emergency and trauma, Regional Medical Center is known for its JCAHO-certified Primary Stroke Center and delivering superior care across our cardiovascular, women and children’s health, neurosciences, cancer care and medical and surgical services.
The ICU Registered Nurse coordinates total nursing care for critically ill patients, averaging in age from 57-70 years. Primary patient population served include those admitted for acute/unstable trauma, acute neurological incidents, acute respiratory failure, MI, acute GI bleed, electrolyte imbalance, and patients post drug overdose. Participates in patient/family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with members of the health care team to maintain standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Participates in organizational and unit based quality improvement activities. Is able to provide mentorship and guidance to new employees.
