Maintenance Mechanic

Well established and growing printing company specializing in screen and digital printing for point of purchase is looking for an experienced industry professional in the capacity of Maintenance Mechanic.  The successful candidate would be responsible for the smooth operation of production equipment including adherence to required maintenance, adequate record keeping and modifications to existing equipment for optimum performance.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, machinery and equipment.
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals and parts catalogs as necessary.
• Dismantle machinery and equipment to gain access and to remove defective parts using necessary tools then reassemble.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines and equipment continue to run smoothly and their physical condition does not deteriorate.
• Plan and lay out repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals and schematic diagrams.
• Estimate repair costs.
• Order parts, supplies and equipment as needed.
• Operate cutting torches or welding equipment.
• Follow all required safety guidelines and utilize the proper personal protective equipment

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years experience with related experience in the Printing Industry a plus
• Knowledge of motor controls, photo eyes, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, gears and chain drives.
• Operate cutting torch and welding equipment
• Electrical Journeyman
• Capable of working without direct supervision
• Capable of following verbal and written instructions with minimum supervision
• Strong OSHA & Safety knowledge
• Able to pass drug and background check
• Able to work long hours and overtime as needed
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
