Description Founded in 1989, Pennsylvania MENTOR - a part of The MENTOR Network - offers an array of quality community-based services to adults and children with developmental disabilities, to children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral, and medically complex challenges, and to elders in need of home care.

 

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced recruiting professional to work out of our Washington, PA office and oversee the staffing processes for our Western Region. This includes recruitment of staff to support our adult Group Homes, Community Residential Rehabilitation (CRR) Services for Children, Family Living/Lifesharing, and in-home services for adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities throughout Southwestern PA.  The most common need in this area is for reliable Direct Support Professionals to be placed in our group homes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in active recruiting techniques to attract and retain top candidates for current and projected job openings
  • Maintain a continuous pool of qualified candidates
  • Perform necessary reference and background checks to verify eligibility for employment
  • Develop recruitment strategies to meet the needs of our specific services and geography
  • Coordinate and deliver new hire training
  • Responsible for creating new employee files
  • Confer continuously with management and supervisors to identify current and projected staffing needs
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • At least one year of recruitment or related HR experience
  • Excellent customer service, organization, and communication skills
  • Experience with the Human Services field, MR/DD services, or healthcare recruitment is preferred
  • Ability to successfully recruit and manage new hire processes across a large geographical territory
  • Willingness to travel regularly - this position will include approximately 50% travel throughout the Southwestern PA area
