Sr. Software Engineer

SRI International's Engineering & Systems Division, the Institute's largest group, is a multidisciplinary engineering organization dedicated to development and application of operationally effective systems. SRI is interested in hiring talented individuals to become part of our software development team in our St. Petersburg Office. As part of the team, you will engage in cutting-edge software development efforts in support of on-going projects managed from the SRI Engineering and Systems Divisions Software Engineering and Development team. Tasks performed in the office may include, but are not limited to software design and development for applications involving: information management, data analysis and processing, graphical user interfaces, database programming, hardware control, reliable data distribution, situation awareness and mapping.   Candidate must be able to successfully lead complex engineering projects. 

Experience: Leading candidates will have 12+ years experience in design and development of software. Successful candidates will have demonstrable leadership and software engineering process skills.   Applicants should have extensive experience in Java and C++ with Java expertise in the areas of J2EE, JNI, Multithreading, JFC/Swing, Javabeans and DOM. Applicants should have familiarity with SOA, UML, XML, ANT, Servlets, CORBA and SQL. At minimum, operating system experience should include Linux, Solaris and Windows. 

Education: BS/MS degree in software engineering, computer engineering, computer science or a related area.

Other:

Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret security clearance.
