Printing - Electronic Pre-Press Imaging

Award-winning flexographic printing company, located in Merced, CA, seeks experienced pre-press operator. Our pre-press department is critical to the quality and success of our organization. We are seeking the very best, talented and knowledgeable individuals that can increase our edge in the packaging and label industries.

Responsibilities: Image and proof electronic files in CTP (Computer to Plate) process.  Work with electronic art files and prepare them for imaging.  Specify trap values, screen angles, screen values, etc.  Ensure that all specifications are met according to the job jacket. Check accuracy, repeat, traps, dot drop off, line screen, screen angle, distortion, gaps, and overall file quality. Will also be asked to generate artwork.  Other duties as assigned.

• Thorough knowledge of the Macintosh operating system, Illustrator and PhotoShop. 
• One to three years working experience in a printing environment, preferably flexography, within the field of electronic pre-press. 
• Knowledge of manual stepping, repeating and distortion a plus. 
• Able to work in a fast paced environment to meet tight deadlines. 
• Dedicated to exceeding quality standards and providing products and services of the highest caliber.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail is a must.
• Experience with color management, Artwork Systems Nexus or ArtPro extremely helpful.
