The University of Utah Campus Utilities Services seeks an innovative, dynamic, experienced Facility Engineer.   As a Facility Engineer, you will manage and administrate the engineering and design standards for the University.  You will also work with project design teams and maintenance organizations to assure projects and design standards optimize facility life cycle costs. 

 Responsibilities 

1.        Assists in the management of the engineering functions and operations of the department

2.        Performs project design reviews to assure compliance with University design standards.

3.        Facilitates project reviews from technical experts, project teams, and maintenance personnel.

4.        Participates in defining and assessing long-term engineering goals and best practices.

5.        Reviews projects in support of current and long-term operations.

6.        Writes and coordinates engineering sections in proposals, reports, and standards.

7.        Present results related to departmental engineering activities.

8.        Directs planning , designing, creating and testing of products and/or systems

9.        Defines and coordinates project objectives and requirements.

10.     Provides progress reports and interim results

11.     Trains technicians and engineers in the requirements of University design standards. 

 Qualifications 

1.        Bachelor's degree in Engineering plus 3 years engineering experience.

2.        Demonstrated communication skills and a commitment to provide excellent customer service required.

3.        Experience should include project or organizational management and a working knowledge of facility design processes and standards.

4.        Masters degree or PE preferred.

Work Schedule 

 Mon - Fri, 8 am - 5 pm

 This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check.
