Job Description:

The database administrator is responsible for the design, maintenance and optimization of our MS SQL Server databases.  Duties include performing backups, database tuning, creating stored procedures and partnering with the software development team to ensure systems make maximum use of the existing database infrastructure.

  

Position Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Involved in the design, implementation, scaling, and support of an SQL Server based distributed applications
  • Working with developers to design and optimize data driven applications
  • Database software and server installation, configuration and management
  • Installing changes to database software, service packs and hot fixes
  • Backups, restores, consolidation and reorganization
  • Optimizes and tunes database systems to maximize their performance and operation
  • Defines and improves the overall release process for database systems.

  

Requirements
 

Requirements: 

  • BS Degree in technology, business or related curriculum
  • 7+ years experience as SQL Server DBA
  • VLDB experience a must
  • Experience with data modeling
  • Knowledge of SQL performance tuning
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with OLAP and data warehouse design and implementation a plus
