Description Overview



Under the direction of the Manufacturing Director, the Manufacturing Associate, will manipulate, manufacture and cryopreserve cellular products using sterile techniques, according to written Standard Operating Procedures and cGMP/cGTP practices.



Essential Functions



1. Perform process and testing operations according to SOPs in clean room environment to manufacture products that consistently meet specifications



2. Preparation and review of SOPs



3. Proficiently operate, maintain and monitor equipment according to SOPs



4. Ordering of reagents and materials



5. As needed carry out environmental monitoring of clean room areas



6. Assist with the installation and operational qualification of equipment according to defined protocols
Requirements

Position requires a an MT(ASCP) or a BS degree in Biology or Biochemistry and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in the GMP manufacture of cell culture-based biopharmaceuticals, the manufacture of cell-based therapeutics, blood bank operations or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

 

Expertise in GMP operations, including cell manufacturing, aseptic technique and experience operating and maintaining equipment, including bioreactors, Cell Factories (and their associated handling robots) and cell processing equipment are additional requirements as are good oral communication skills, detail orientation, problem solving ability and teamwork.

 

A willingness to work flexible hours and shifts is important.
