Safety Supervisor

 

 

  • Responsible for assisting with developing and implementing, and supervising ongoing safety/compliance program 

  • Responsible for compliance with department of transportation regulations and company policies.
  • Manages driver training and orientation programs for new drivers and periodic retraining of fleet drivers.
  • Communicates with drivers on safety/practices and accident prevention both in the workplace and over-the-road.
  • Monitors driver performance with road and safety checks.
  • Investigates accidents for preventability.  Counsels and retrains drivers involved in preventable accidents.
  • Schedules periodic safety meetings with drivers and management.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of  the Federal Motor Carrier Safety and HazMat Regulations.  

  • 3+ years experience in Safety, Transportation & Management  

  •  Current Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills necessary.  

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced work environment.

  • Ability to handle diverse customers both externally and internally.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management.

  • Strong written/verbal communication skills
