About Us

The Mudlogging Company USA is the largest independent mudlogging company in the US.  TMC is considered an industry leader in technology and holds numerous patents.  With over 50 mobile units, TMC specializes in the Gulf Coast region of Texas, Louisiana and offshore Gulf of Mexico.  TMC has also mudlogged specialty wells in Wyoming, New Mexico, Alabama, Mississippi and Arkansas.  Outside of the US TMC has a partner company in Mexico with 25 running units and has also done international jobs in China, Offshore Africa, Indonesia, Ecuador, Israel and Venezuela.    

 TMC is now opening its doors to recent grads in the Marcellus Shale Region of the US (Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio and New York).  We are looking for about 5-10 recent grads or experienced loggers in these areas.

TMC is looking for recent grad students with degrees in Geology and Natural Sciences!  Candidates should have an adventurous personality, strong math and science skills and be able to work on remote or offshore locations. 

 

 Description

A Mudlogger is someone who works a 14/7 rotation. The specific duties of a Mudlogger are as follows:

Ability to travel both onshore and offshore.  This involves boarding and disembarking, including riding personnel baskets/carriers and riding helicopters to and from shore. 

Shift rotation 12 hours per day; 14 days on and 7 days off.   

“Rig Up" and “Rig Down"; at least one day each

Rigging up and down involves installing sensors and running cables  from a mobile laboratory to various sensors around the drilling rig. 

Monitoring data from microprocessors based data acquisition system and other instruments inside a mobile lab.

Collecting cuttings and fluid samples at the return line of the well, processing and analyzing samples with microscope, a Fluoroscope and specific chemical tests. 

Coordinating data with various rig site personnel.

Preparing reports. 

Communicating with key rig personnel.

Maintaining sensors and computer equipment.

Requirements

AT LEAST a B.S. in Geology, Chemistry or Natural Sciences (*or 2 years  Marcellus Shale Mudlogging Experience)
Valid Driver’s License

Reliable Mode of Transportation to get to and from remote locations.  A 4 wheel drive is highly recommended.

Legal right to work in the US with the ability to gain a US Passport

Great communication skills in clear English

Good understanding in Math, Geology, Chemistry and Physics

Ability to pass a pre-employment Drug Screen and submit to Random Drug Screens
