Description

POSITION HOURS and Days:  Friday 10:30pm to 7:00am and Saturday 11:55 PM-8:30 AM


To provide on-site service to health care clients of iod incorporated, including production of copies or digital images of health information (medical records).



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



1.         Reports directly and promptly to client site every workday.



2.         Greets and assists patients, physicians, client staff, and others courteously and professionally.



3.         Reads request letter and release thoroughly; validates authorization; scans or copies requested records; returns medical records chart to order in which it was found. 



4.         May perform data entry regarding requests in Client’s or Company’s computer tracking system.



5.         Scans requested records using scanner; prints copies of those to be left with client. 



6.         Returns medical records chart to order in which it was found. 



7.         Dress code required:  business casual or professional.



8.         Expected to frequently use the following equipment:  copier, scanner, phone, fax, computer.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  

May also be required to use microfilm viewer/printer from time to time.  Writes up approvals/pre-pays.  Other duties as may be assigned from time to time. 

Requirements

1.         High school diploma or equivalent, (must be from an Accredited Institute recognized by the State Dept. of Education.) 



2.         Valid Driver License and Proof of Insurance



3.         Ability to sit at desk and use computer screen, keyboard, and telephone for extended periods; ability to lift a case of paper (up to 50 pounds, using ergonomic instructions and education provided);  ability to bend, turn and straighten; ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently; ability to see clearly and to hear well.



4.         Friendly, professional manner of communication.



5.         Computer proficiency with typing speed of 40wpm or better.



6.         Ability to stay organized while working quickly.



7.       You are required to pass a HIPAA exam with a score of 90% or better within 3 attempts and annually thereafter to ensure the proficiency and prevention of wrongful disclosures. 



8.       Must be able to pass a background check, drug test and other immunizations required by our client.
