Informix Database Administrator

• Title:  Informix Database Administrator
• Duration:  6 month indefinite contract
• Location:  Columbus, OH

Responsibilities:

• Need for a DBA contractor on a potentially long-term basis. Management of IDMS and Informix databases.
• Serves as an expert in database systems and applications analysis and development.
• Undertakes the most complex database systems and applications projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge.
• Makes well-thought-out decisions on the most complex or ambiguous database issues. Coordinates with users to determine requirements.
• Ensures that database improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.
• Establishes and communicates common goal and direction for team.
• Acts as a source of direction, training and guidance for less experienced staff.
• Monitors project schedules and costs.

Must Have Skills Required:

• Eight (8) years of experience in database administration.
• Three (3) years of project management experience is strongly preferred.
• Progressive experience in database analysis and installation is strongly preferred.  
• Extensive IDMS and Informix DBA experience  (Required In-depth Knowledge)
• Experience with Oracle and UDB (Highly Desired In-depth Knowledge)
• Comfortable navigating multiple platforms (Mainframe, Unix, Windows) (Required In-depth Knowledge)
• Experience with Financial systems (Required In-depth Knowledge)
• Experience with complex system interfaces and dependencies (Required In-depth Knowledge)
• Leadership and communication skills (Required In-depth Knowledge)
