Description
  •  Review the program log, weekend notes, chore list, menu and any additional staff information, daily. 

  •   Review highlights of log with staff based on what you have read, for clarity instruction.

  •  Confirm location of all consumers with staff, using the sign out sheet as a guide.

  •  Regularly check the unit for cleanliness.  Any area that a consumer is to clean is to be clarified by staff.  Take responsibility for the cleanliness of the unit in order to prepare for changing shifts.

  •  Follow rules surrounding kitchen and chores:  Meal times and menu are to be followed closely.  Assist consumers as needed with the preparation of the indicated meal.  Ensure that consumers know how to use appliances properly.  Check off chore sheet and note in log when chores are completed.

  •  Be responsible for knowing where consumers are and what they are doing at all times.  This includes checking bedrooms, TV room, etc. Ensure that consumers sign in and out appropriately.

  •  Be aware of and ensure that consumers do not engage in drug and alcohol abuse.  Be aware of theft or the potential for theft.   Conduct inspections of personal items or rooms of consumers in the event that theft or substance abuse is indicated.

  • Observe and monitor consumer interactions.  Teach by example what is appropriate by limiting foul language, negative attitudes, intimidation and unnecessary rough housing. Discuss problems with consumers, utilize problem solving techniques.
  • Spend time in the living area with consumers as much as possible.  Spend time talking with the consumers, role modeling appropriate adult behavior. Model positive behavior.
  • Ensures medication compliance for residents through proper medication monitoring and management.

  •  Attend all team meetings.

  •  Adhere to agency & program policies & procedures & ethical standard of conduct

  •  Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor/Administrator.

 

 

Requirements

Qualifications:

  

Education

  • High school diploma, preferably with some post secondary educational experience.


Experience:

  • Experience in human services, specifically with the substance abuse population
  • Must be familiar with group process and have experience with problem-solving.  
  • Must have demonstrated the ability to work responsibly, possess good judgment skills, and work under minimum direct supervision.
