Administrator Skilled Nursing Facility
GENERAL PURPOSE To manage the facility while promoting a positive, professional facility image.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES
Primary
1. Operate the facility in accordance with the established policies and procedure of the governing body in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
2. Ability to prepare written policies regarding duties and activities of facility staff.
3. Enforce the facility policies and procedures.
4. Act as liaison to the governing body for medical, nursing and other professional staff and all facility departments.
5. Prepare all reports required by management.
6. Prepare written personnel policies and individual job descriptions.
Marginal Functions
1. Ability to define standard operating procedure for physician practices.
2. Ability to supervise the confidentiality and safe storage of current and closed resident records, personnel record and physical plant records with regulatory requirements.
3. Ability to ensure that all necessary supplies are purchased and available.
4. Ability to participate in the scheduling, planning and procuring of material and information for staff meetings and in-services education programs.
5. Ability to develop one-t-one relationships with residents and families.
Other Job Functions
1. Assist in coordinating resident and family support groups.
2. Develop and implement methods for determining facility quality
3. Ensure that work areas are clean, safe and orderly.
4. Ensure facility fire safety, hazardous material and infection control practices are being followed.
5. Promptly resolve any unsafe conditions or equipment.
6. Greet residents, visitors and staff courteously. Promote resident rights, dignity and confidentiality standards.
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Must have current state licensure.
• Must be able to read written directions, comprehend verbal instructions, and write at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
• Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
• Must be capable of performing the Essential Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (with or without the aid of mechanical devices)
Walking, reaching and bending. Frequent moving throughout the facility, occasional pushing of wheelchairs, occasional lifting and moving of supplies or resident’s personal belongings. Fine hand coordination, and visual acuity. Ability to read, write and communicate with residents and personnel. Ability to remain calm under stress.
