Plant Controller

Description We are Sensient Dehydrated Flavors LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sensient Technologies, a leader in the dehydrated vegetables and flavorings industry.  We are currently recruiting for a Plant Controller and are searching for a dynamic individual to fill this position.This position is based at our Turlock headquarters and will report to the Division Controller.  The position has overall responsibility for the accounting practices and related internal controls, maintenance of financial records, and preparation of financial reports, analysis, budgets and forecasts related to the manufacture of our food ingredient product line.  In addition, this position has responsibility for accounts payable, with one direct report.

Qualified candidates should have a Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance and a minimum of four years of progressively responsible experience in finance and/or cost accounting with at least two years of supervisory experience.  CPA certification is desirable, but not required.  Prior manufacturing/food processing industry experience is preferred.  Candidates should have highly developed skills with Excel, Word and Power Point.  Experience with Hyperion financial reporting, Infinium and JD Edwards accounting software would be beneficial, but not required.

Requirements MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1)        Preparation of various production control reports (raw materials, dehydration, and milling)

2)        Processing of hauling, harvesting and grower payments for Onion and Garlic.

3)        Provide assistance to Director of Field Operations regarding special grower requests.

4)        Responsible for Onion and Garlic inventory reporting/control and reconciliation process

5)        Preparation of various monthly journal entries for accounting close process.

6)        Supervise accounting sub-system closes at month-end.

7)        Provide assistance in developing/updating Onion and Garlic finished product standards.

8)        Maintain capital projects and fixed asset accounting records

9)        Assist in cash and banking process (wire transfers, stop payments, research, reconciliations)

10)    Assist in inter-division reconciliations

11)    Reconcile A/R detail and A/P and Brokers detail to general ledger

12)    Process Salaried Payroll and serve as a back-up for hourly payroll.

13)    Prepare annual tax package and assist in the annual audit package.

14)    Add new accounts in ledger and map to Hyperion

15)    Responsible for GL report writing when new accounts are added

16)    May supervise others as assigned.

17)    Update product costs annually or as needed.
