Payment Poster

Essential Job Functions:

Receives and applies patient and insurance carrier payments to patient accounts.

Performs and assists with other department duties as needed.

Hours:

Monday-Friday-Must be available between 7am-3:30pm (flexible on start time, must work 8 hour shift).

Compensation:

Hourly wage based on experience.  The average pay rate is between $9.00 and 11.00 per hour.

Training

Two to Four weeks of training learning position, guidelines and procedures.

• Knowledge of and skill in using personal computers in a Windows environment

•  Emphasis on basic spreadsheet applications and data entry.

•  Knowledge of medical insurance and its terminology.

•  Ability to pay close attention to detail.

•  Ability to identify research and solve problems and discrepancies.

•  Ability to perform basic mathematical functions such as adding and subtracting to derive a total.

•  Ability to communicate with coworkers, management, and third-party payors in a courteous and professional manner.

•  Ability to maintain confidentiality.

•  Ability to process assigned duties in an organized manner.

•  Ability to work overtime when needed.
