Description

Job Title: Food Service Supervisor

Department: Dietary  

Location: Washington Pa

Full/Part Time: Full Time

 

 

Job Summary Is responsible for oversight of the daily operation in the Dining Services Department.  The Supervisor will coordinate the activities of the dietary aide, cook and porter.

 

Responsibilities:

1.        Supervises dietary employee’s preparation of food and services of meals in all service areas.

2.        Inspects food for attractiveness, palatability and temperature of food.

3.        Conducts daily QI surveys to guarantee delivery of meals comparable with set standards.

4.        Participates in the hiring, disciplining and terminating of employees.

5.        Trains new employees as needed as well as assists with the orientation of new employees.  Completes all forms and reports as assigned according to department policies and procedures.

6.        Oversees work areas so that service is prompt and courteous.

7.        Follows up on complaints by residents, employees and guests.

8.        Orders food and supplies according to weekly needs.

9.        Complete monthly financial reports.

10.     Performs any and all duties in the kitchen, serving areas as required by staffing problems.

11.     Responsible for the set-up of special events, assigns others when necessary.

 

 

 

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
