Description

DESCRIPTION:  Direct supervision of all Medical Record Department clerical staff. Manages daily clerical workflow for the Medical Records Department, including scheduling, training and monitoring for productivity and accuracy. Responsible for interviewing and hiring clerical staff. Counsels and disciplines employees as per hospital policy. Conducts annual performance reviews for direct reports. Performs ongoing assessments of the clerical areas to identify areas of opportunity and ensure that areas of responsibility comply with and/or exceed regulatory/accreditation requirements and standards. Develop familiarity and understanding of medical record suspension process. Interacts with physicians on an ongoing basis and handles any complaints or suggestions for improvement in a timely manner. Acts as liaison between the Medical Records Department and contracted vendors. Assists with the medical record certification process. Serves as clinical instructor for student affiliations. Assists in budgetary preparation, implementation and cost-effective strategies. Practices open communication with employees, Medical Records Leadership, Ingalls Management Team and other internal/external customers.

Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: • Must be a graduate of an educational program for the physical therapist, which is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Commissioner of Education and/or the Council on Post Secondary Accreditation. • Must have current valid certificate of registration from the State of Illinois or eligibility for same, together with eligibility for membership in the APTA. • 600 hours of clinical experience is included in the education requirements. • Must have Basic Life Support Certification. • A high degree of accuracy in evaluating patients is required, and significant mental effort is routinely involved in pursuing and adjusting individual treatment plans. **Hours to be determined; evenings.
